Over thirty-five percent of our staff members are LEED Accredited Professionals, and all of our project teams are knowledgeable about the United States Green Building Council’s LEED Certification System. This experience enables us to provide clients with the most advanced ideas in green building and sustainable construction practices. Sustainable Expertise

From LEED, Net Zero or even fully regenerative buildings – Hathaway Dinwiddie comes to the table ready to innovate and provide solutions. We stay up to date on the latest sustainable building techniques and certifications. We can assist with CALGreen mandatory requirements, all levels of LEED certification, Net Zero Energy pursuits, Living Building Challenge aspirations, and WELL Building compliance. Our in-house MEP Department experts provide design-assist and design-build services and help to coordinate efficient systems. Even if a client does not choose to pursue certification, we can help incorporate sustainable design and construction concepts into your project.

LEED Certification


Hathaway Dinwiddie has been a member of the USGBC since 2002. We are experienced with the USGBC LEED rating system and can assist clients with achieving LEED certification economically by targeting the most cost effective points. Any of our LEED Accredited Professionals can prepare the LEED Project Checklist and develop a strategy with the client and design team for achieving the target rating of Certified, Gold, Silver, or Platinum. We can make recommendations for winning Innovation credits and use of recycled and local materials. We now have over 8 million square feet of LEED certified spaces in our portfolio and another 7 million square feet under construction or awaiting certification. Half of alllLEED projects Hathaway Dinwiddie has completed have achieved at least a Gold Level Certification, and 21% have achieved Platinum.

Accredited Staff

Hathaway Dinwiddie management sees significant opportunities for HDCCO to win and build important projects involving “Green” elements. By educating individuals, providing LEED accredited project members, and qualifying Project Teams, we can confidently provide professional service to clients who seek to build sustainable facilities.

Over one-third of our staff are LEED AP’s and Green Associates, and we encourage new hires to pursue the accreditation. We also provide support for continuing education to help employees maintain their expertise.

Green Team

The Hathaway Dinwiddie Green Team is made up of dedicated professionals who have embraced Sustainable design and construction. Our Green Team conducts in house training sessions on Green topics so all project teams have a working knowledge of sustainability and the LEED rating system. The Green Team is actively involved in the USGBC and stay current with the latest sustainability issues.

Our Preconstruction Managers, Estimators, Project Managers, and Superintendents use the Green Team as a resource to assist with incorporating sustainability into every project.
